Product Overview
FM-902 is a hybrid powder coating additive with broad compatibility across various polyester resins. It offers a gloss range of approximately 6-60% (measured at 60°), exceptional leveling properties, superior anti-yellowing performance, and good gloss stability as well as powder storage stability
Technical Parameters
| Appearance | Volatile Content (%) | Inspection Method | Standard Reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| White to light yellow powder | ≤0.5 | Visual Inspection | GB1725 |
Product Features
Wide Selection of Polyesters: Compatible with most polyester resins, particularly suitable for 50/50 or 60/40 polyester blends.
Non-Interfering Properties: Does not affect the recoatability or transferability of the coating.
Enhanced Surface Properties: Compared to FM-901, it exhibits superior surface properties and somewhat improved matting performance in certain systems.
Simplified Production Process: Direct mixing and extrusion with other raw materials without the need for epoxy consumption, maintaining the epoxy-polyester ratio, resulting in low cost and ease of use.
Excellent Coating Properties: Smooth and even film surface, good leveling, exceptional resistance to yellowing, and good mechanical properties.
Dosage and Application
Mix FM-902 with other components in a high-speed mixer, followed by extrusion through an extruder. The recommended dosage is 1-4.5% of the total formula weight, depending on the desired gloss level.

Tips:
Due to variations among different polyester resins, it is recommended to conduct small-scale tests before large-scale production to confirm the effects.
Adding accelerators/catalysts such as imidazoles or other amine compounds to improve impact resistance is not recommended as it may increase gloss and affect
leveling.
Control the extrusion and baking temperatures to ensure consistent gloss levels.
Packaging and Storage
Packaged in polyethylene-lined kraft paper bags, with a net weight of 25 kg per bag.
Based on our experience, the product remains effective for at least 1 year when stored at temperatures below 32°C.
