Product Overview

FM-906A is a high-consumption epoxy-type semi-chemical matting agent suitable for polyester/epoxy hybrid systems. This product provides a gloss level of 2 degrees or
higher and can achieve matte or flat powder coatings depending on the amount of matting agent used. Powder coatings prepared with this product exhibit good storage stability, excellent mechanical properties, and resistance to scratching and yellowing.

Product Features

Excellent matting performance, stable gloss adjustment. Maximum addition level of 5%. Suitable for most 5:5 or 6:4 polyester resin formulations. Simple preparation process, mixed and extruded directly with other materials. Requires 1-2.5 parts epoxy per part of matting agent. Low cost and ease of application. It does not affect the transfer printing performance, with excellent re-extrusion gloss stability.

The film surface exhibits outstanding properties, with smooth and fine finish, excellent leveling, resistance to yellowing, and good mechanical and scratch resistance performance.

Usage and Dosage

The consumption ratio of epoxy to this matting agent is approximately 1:2.5. Gloss can be adjusted by varying the amounts of matting agent and epoxy consumed. Optimal mechanical properties can be achieved by adjusting the epoxy amount in different formulations. Note: It is not recommended to add accelerators, catalysts, or imidazole compounds to enhance impact resistance

Tips:

Variations exist between different polyesters, so small-scale testing is recommended before full-scale production.
Avoid adding accelerators in formulations, as this may increase gloss.
Control extrusion and baking temperatures to ensure consistent gloss.
While powder coatings made with FM-906A exhibit relatively good storage stability, avoid prolonged storage in high-temperature conditions; use prepared powder coatings promptly

Packaging and Storage

Packaged in polyethylene-lined kraft paper bags, each weighing 25 kg net.

Based on our experience, this product has a shelf life of at least 1 year when stored below 32°C.
