Product Overview

FM-908A is a semi-chemical, smoke-free matting agent used for matting hybrid powder coatings. One part of FM-908A consumes 2.4 parts of epoxy. It has a broad selectivity for polyesters, suitable for matting powders with a gloss range of 2-40%, and offers excellent leveling, fine surface, good mechanical properties, as well as stable gloss and storage stability.

Product Features

• FM-908A is used for 5:5 or 6:4 hybrid powder coatings, with one part FM-908A consuming 2.4 parts epoxy.

• The surface is very smooth and fine, with no yellowing.

• It has a broad selectivity for polyesters, meaning most polyesters have a good matting effect.

• It is wax-free, not affecting transfer printing or silk screen printing.

• The powder coating has a long gelation time and relatively good storage performance.

• The surface is smooth and fine with excellent anti-yellowing properties, good mechanical properties, and scratch resistance.

Usage and Dosage

The consumption ratio of this matting agent to epoxy is about 1:2.4. Gloss can be adjusted by varying the amount of matting agent and epoxy consumed. Optimal mechanical performance can be achieved by adjusting the amount of epoxy in different formulations.

Notes:

There are differences between polyesters, so it is recommended to conduct small sample tests to confirm the effect before mass production.
It is not recommended to add accelerators to the formulation, as it may lead to an increase in gloss.
Powder coatings made with FM-908A have a long gelation time and relatively good storage performance, but it is not recommended to store them for a long time in hot weather. It is advised to use them as soon as possible.
FM-908A provides exclusive customization services, which can be adjusted and improved according to customer requirements in terms of gloss, leveling, and mechanical properties.

Packaging and Storage

Packed in kraft paper bags with polyethylene linings, each bag weighs 25 kg net.

Based on our experience, this product is effective for at least 1 year when stored at temperatures below 32℃.
